The Summit Story
Born from a Love of the Hills
Summit Hotels was founded in 2008 by a team of hospitality professionals who shared a deep love for the Darjeeling hills. Their vision was simple yet ambitious — to create mountain retreats that felt neither like impersonal chain hotels nor like underprepared guesthouses, but something altogether more special.
Drawing inspiration from the colonial heritage of Darjeeling — its tea gardens, its Victorian architecture, its storied past as a hill station — Summit Hotels set out to honour that legacy while delivering the comforts and service standards of a modern luxury brand.
Today, with three iconic properties on the slopes of Darjeeling, Summit Hotels welcomes guests from across India and around the world — offering them not just a place to stay, but a complete Himalayan experience.
